Shopping

All day. From about 11:30 this morning til just now. It was definitely fun though, started the whole dorm room shopping. I spent a lot of time at ikea and linens and things buying bed stuff, and lots of other random things. Ikea was great, I decided I love that store, but at first it was a little overwhelming, definitely worth it though. Well now my feet hurt and I am tired and hungry, I think my mom and I were having so much fun shopping that we skipped dinner. Off to eat and put my feet in a hot tub.

Friday night

Went to the dinner and a movie "date night" with Garret and friends Niki and Kevin. I've had the chance to hang out with Niki and Kevin alot lately which is cool, and to get to know Garret more, which has also been pretty awesome.
So we went to eat at Acupulco, I've only been there once before and the food was pretty good. Then we went to see The Village. It definitely had it's scary parts, but wasn't quite as scary as I expected. And then of course with it being an M. Night Shamalan (no idea how to spell that) movie you know there's a twist at the end, but even then it was a weird twist. I won't give it away but it was weird. The theater was completely full too since it was the first night of the movie so at a scary part there were lots of screams from the audience, helping to build the suspense even more. But Garret held my hand during the scary parts... well more than just the scary parts, but those too, hehe.
Anyway I really had an awesome time, now I'm off to bed to get some sleep before I go dorm room shopping all day tomorrow...

It's not all bad

My earlier post was all about how this whole blogging thing seems to be taking over some of my life a little too much. But then today I was thinking there has to be some positiveness to writing in my blog and checking up on others blogs all day.

1) Since it's summer and I gradauted from highschool in june and am going to college in about a month, I would not have been writing at all over this time period. So it's kept me from getting rusty in that respect. Not like this is challenging writing, but still.
2) It's good to keep connected with people and through blogging and instant messaging (which i also do a little too much), I am able to do that.

Anyway there should be more good reasons for being blobsessed, but that's all I can think of for now.

Blobsessed?

I was reading my friend Tim's blog last night and was kind of bored so I also checked out some of the links he had to other people's blogs. I recognized Ian Frasier's name and so read his blog . See I knew Ian like 5 years ago when he worked as the jr. high leader at the day camp i was a jr. higher at, I don't think he would remember me, but see that's what's fun about the blog world, it doesn't matter!
Anyway I was kind of scanning through and came across this post on his thoughts on blobsession and thought I'd share because not only is it completely hilarious, but so true too.
Let's see every morning when I wake up (actually sometimes that means noon too since it's summer), I go online and check my email, chat with people awhile and Read Blogs. I think I have become one of those obsessed with this phenomenon as Ian put it. When I get bored I'll even check random blogs besides my friends of people I don't even know, maybe who have something in common with me such as a favorite band. I love getting the comments or feedback too, the reason I even check my mail in the morning. How have I become so addicted?
Right now here is what I should be doing:
- cleaning my room (it looks like a typhoon hit it right now, there's a small walk space from the door to the bed and that's about it)
- filling out job applications to work at SDSU somewhere next year that I probably should have faxed in yesterday
- calling the cashier's office to clear up some stuff
- making a list of stuff to buy for dorms next year
- washing my car
- eating breakfast
- folding clothes
- well the list goes on but I won't bore you anymore. The point is that I have all that stuff to do and yet what am I doing?? Writing in this blog!

Cold Stones FYI

I found out if you go to Cold Stones on Thursday anytime between 5 and 8 pm you can get a free slice of cold stones cake, some type of fundraiser that the Make A Wish Foundation has set up. Anyway just thought you might like to know! Yum!

Who needs to work out to get "In Shape"?

I was reading this WebMD article on the internet and thought it was pretty interesting. To everyone out there who has money and can't find time to eat right or work out, there's a solution for you! Just get bicep implants, tummy tucks, breast implants (only for the ladies please), calf implants, and pretty much every other kind of muscle implant! Read about it here: Extreme Makeover: Coming to a beach near you .

the pike

Went to the pike in downtown long beach lat night. I haven't been there yet since they've fixed it all up and it seems like a pretty neat place, although we didn't get to fully check everything out. It was a fun time, I went with friends Niki, Kevin, and Garret. We ate at Islands,  yum, I haven't been there in a while. And then went to this place called GameWorks which has tons of arcade games, pool tables, bowling, a restaurant and other stuff. It was a nicer place than say the powerstation at lb towne center. Anyway since Niki's brother works there we got to do everything free! Which was the sweet part about it. So we played pool in teams, Garret and I won the 1st game and Niki and I won the 2nd game, haha. Then we played some arcade games and then bowled. Unfortunately though we had to leave at 10:00 because the place became only 21 and over I guess since there was a bar inside, I think they turned it into a club type thing. But I was actually winning and doing really good at bowling! I had 90 something points and we only bowled 8 times... meaning I won again! Haha. So I had lots of winning going on, which was cool for me since I'm pretty competitive :)

Napolean Dynamite...

Bad movie. I thought it was going to at least be funny. Nope. Cheaply put together with no plot and really not all that funny at all. If I could give any advice to any of you out there it would be to avoid this movie at all costs. Unless you want to go just so you could count how many times you can see the hanging microphone at the top of the screen, I think I saw it at least 4 or 5 different times. Bad.
One good thing though, it was free since Julia Lipscomb gave me 2 tickets to AMC! Haha, thanks Julia.

Baptism

Tonight at church myself as well as Katie Drake were baptized. It really was an awesome experience. I've been thinking alot this week about the baptism and about my testimony as well. I wanted to be baptized so that I could share with the Satellite community my decision to live my life for Christ and how much greater my life has been since I have made that decision. Normally I'm not all that great at speaking in front of a group of people but I felt that tonight God gave me the calm to be able to share my testimony, although I'm sure I left some things out I meant to say because the nervousness was still there a little. But even then it was so cool to have been given the chance to be baptized tonight. Tim Smith asked me afterwards if I felt good. Yes, I do, but there's more to it than that too, I just can't explain it, it feels really great.

Orientation

Friday I had orientation at SDSU, so my mom and I drove down Thursday afternoon right at the worst time for traffic apparently. Actually I had to drive because my mom wanted me to get used to it, not bad really... but what could be driven in like 1 hours 45 minutes took almost 3 hours getting there, coming home today wasn't so bad.
ANYWAY orientation was a long day but very informative... I now know what classes I'm taking and I just registered today. The only bad part to the whole day was right when we got to the school and were walking up the steps... what does my mom spot? A condom. Nice. So after I assured her that these kinds of things probably happen at all schools and not to worry about it we moved on to the rest of the day.
That night we made our way to fashion islands and ate some yummy Cheesecake Factory, never been there before but it was quite good. Then today looked we went to the SDSU bookstore and checked out lap tops, but unfortunately they didn't have the ibook I wanted to look at in stock. But I just finished buying one on the internet.. .The iBook 14TFT/ 1.2GHz/256SD/ 60G/ Combo/ APX (don't know exactly what all of that means but I have an idea :))
Fun stuff, now I have to fill out an application for jobs at the SDSU stores, hopefully I'll be able to work at the bookstore, and then call for an interview! Should be fun, I could definitely use some interview pointers though, I tend to get nervous in those situations. Cool thing is if I do actually get a job at the bookstore (which many people want so who knows)... then I have to be able to start working on August 16, so I'd get to move down to San Diego 2 weeks early!

College is already confusing... and I haven't even started yet :(

What I wanted to be doing: swimming and hanging out with friends Niki, Kevin and Garrett. What I did do: started trying to figure out which classes I needed to register for and looking at info for SDSU orientation (which is friday). The only conclusion I came to is that I'm pretty confused on what I need to take, but I do have to take Sociology. See I was accepted to the honors program at SDSU (the reason I wanted to be in it is because of priority registration aka finish school sooner maybe, or at least get the classes I want). But what it means is that I have to take one honors class each semester, but it fits into general ed classes so it's no big deal. But now I can't figure out which other classes to take cause I've already passed some AP courses in high school (college level courses) meaning I don't have to take all of the general ed classes. Anyway today confused me more than anything, but oh well at least I have questions for when orientation comes.                                                                                           On a more fun note tonight I got to spend some time with my friend Vanna who I haven't really seen or talked to in a while. We went to dinner and a movie and had a nice time talking at Starbucks afterward. I think we both had a lot on our minds and needed someone to talk to so it was cool to be able to hang out together and share with each other.                                        (By the way, you know when you get up at noon it's hard to go to sleep at a normal time, even if you have to get up early the next day! Well I guess the starbucks didn't help either. I'm totally awake right now and it's like almost 2 am... hmmm I have some stuff to read I think now's a good time to start)

DSL

So we DID have DSL and MSN, then when I was in New Jersey it apparently just stopped working one day. Go figure. Now it won't work at all still so we are back to using dial up, yuck. Man just going from DSL back to dial up is driving me crazy because of the slowness. Anyways just in case those of you who i talk to on MSN messenger were wondering, that's what happened to me :(

hanging out at the oc

Went to the beach, got sunburned face. Went on a double date to the oc fair, saw weird people, met a nice guy named garrett (my "date"). Got a tattoo, ate cpk, ate funnel cake. Now sleepy, off to bed.     By the way, just out of curiosity, I was thinking about it and the only way I know who actually reads my blog is if anyone comments. So right now I have it figured that about 4 people actually read it, which makes me sad, and feel like I shouldn't even keep blogging. I mean I told many a people about it... but apparently that doesn't mean too much. So if anyone else out there reads it, would you drop in a comment cause I'm kinda curious. :)

6 weeks

That's all that I have left before I move out and start going to school at SDSU. Wow... I feel compelled to use the old cliche... it's so close, and yet so far away. I mean it's not like I'm moving away forever since I will be home most likely next summer... but still.  Any ideas of anything that I should do before I leave?

New Jersey...

I don't know where to start or what to say about the awesome time I had in New Jersey with David and Melissa Macomber. Let's see there were lots of firsts... first time to New York and all that includes, New Jersey, seeing a lightning bolt or a summer thunderstorm, going to Wildwood, eating yummy Chillin ice cream, driving on the parkway, spending a full week with great friends, flying on a plane without adults, swimming with jelly fish eggs... and I'm sure lots more. Thinking about it makes me miss nj and the macombers already :(.  Just a lot of hanging out, laughing, joking around... what makes life so enjoyable.

Time out of whack

Tonight my mom asked me where I wanted to go out to dinner... Well since it was about 7:30 I really didn't want to go out to dinner, I wanted to sleep, but oh well, Sizzler prevailed over sleeping. Now the family wants to watch a movie and it's almost 10:00... But see to me it feels like almost 1:00 a.m... Funny cause I never thought I really got used to the NJ time difference, but apparently I did because right now I'm really tired and don't think I'll be able to survive through a movie. I think my parents want to catch up on some time they missed with me being away for a week, and for now I think the easiest thing to do would just be to appease them.

Home

Made it back home about 2.5 hours ago. It's nice to be home but I already miss being in New Jersey... More about that fun adventure later. For right now I'm pretty tired and need to take a nap. Last night Emma and I decided not to go to bed since we didn't get home til 1:30 and were leaving at 3:45 in the A.M. and hadn't packed yet. Figured we'd just sleep on the plane. Well Emma slept the entire time, but I could only sleep for the first flight and about half of the second, 3 hours at the most. So off to sleep for a while, then I'll update all about the awesome New Jersey vacation with Melissa and David Macomber, and I'm going to try to figure out once more how to post pictures to share. For now you can visit their site to read about our adventures and see some pictures!http://homepage.mac.com/themacombers/iblog/index.html
(Hmm blogspot has changed some stuff and now the link thing isn't working right like it used to... oh well.)

Oh yeah... P.S. I could have updated my blog while in NJ, but I was lazy... :)

Happy Birthday Emily!

Today Emily turned 15, wow, when I think what I knew already at 15 it's kind of crazy. Emily's not much the sharing type of person, so I'm not sure if she knows as much as I did, but I'm sure she does. Anyway we went and ate yummy boysenberry cream cheese pancakes and then went bowling where we were surrounded by old folks, and then rented some movies... I wanted to go to the beach, but she didn't, oh well. Anyway I don't think I should ever attempt to bowl again cause I suck. I got 60 points the first game and 65 the second, Emily got I think about 80 points each game. For those of you unfamiliar with bowling, 60 is NOT a good score, in fact it is an extremely crappy score, but oh well. There's still cake and presents to look forward to tonight. Oh crap! I still haven't wrapped her present! Better get crackin!
So I think this will probably be my last post before I go to NJ for a week!! Yah! I've just started packing, so much for getting a head start, haha. Anyway see you all later, and see you Macombers soon!

Nother day

Let's see... me and my sis took my mom out to lunch... i went shopping for a memory stick... went rock climbing with a group of friends... went to see harry potter but actually saw spiderman 2 instead with Corrie... went around LAX like 5 times cause the lame-o security guards kept telling us we couldn't stop to pick up Corrie's roommate Vanessa's brother... got some yummy starbucks... and am now home.
Tomorrow's Emily's 15th b-day and I still have to wrap her present. I think we are going bowling and I am going to take her to Gourmet Pie for breakfast. And sometime tomorrow I have to do a lot of laundry (since I really don't feel like doing it right now) and then pack for New Jersey to go and visit the Macombers! I'm so excited I can't wait. Emma and I leave crazy early Friday morning and then we'll be there until next Friday! I told Melissa I feel like a little kid who gets to go to Disneyland for the first time, and this week is going by so slow too! :)

Working out - Paying off

I've started working out again for like the last couple of weeks. I am so used to just having to work out with soccer and all that it's hard for me to just do it on my own. Also I haven't worked out as much because right at the end of soccer season this year I managed to sprain my knee pretty badly and just got to play in the last game, but every time I exercised after that it would hurt ALOT for at least the next day. I play indoor soccer games on Tuesday nights and tonight was even more difficult because the girls had no substitutes... but I didn't get completely exhausted! Right now I feel pretty good, and the constant exercise has actually helped my knee to not hurt as much, right now I barely feel it. Anyway once I get back on track with eating I'm sure the weight will come off too, but for now it's nice to see that the working out is helping in other ways as well!!

New Camera!

I ordered this camera off the internet about a week ago and it finally came today! (Yes it took a while but was much cheaper this way). Anyway I used much graduation money to buy a Sony Cybershot 5.1 Megapixel, DSC-P100 digital camera . Probably much more of a camera than I will ever need, but definitely fun to have so that I can take bunches of pictures in college and the rest of this summer! Anyway this is one of those things that I think I will actually read the instruction manual on, normally I just kind of play with things to figure them out, but I want to know everything I can do with this camera and actually know how to do it. So definitely excited.

New good band

Actually I don't think they're new at all, but I just discovered them... The Postal Service, good stuff. Here's their music video for the songs The District Sleeps Alone Tonight and Such Great Heights . Both are good, I think I like the second one just a little more.

Car accident

My curfew's normally 12:00, but last night I managed to get it to be 12:30 since I was having way too much fun attempting to make chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels with Corrie. On my way home after a warning from my mother to watch out for the crazies on the road, almost 12:30 I hit traffic all of a sudden and was like great, I'm not going to get home in time, so I took the exit at Woodruff, the one right before Bellflower where I normally get off instead. Today Emma was telling me about a car accident Brittain was in at about 12:20 at night. Apparently he was going to change into the right lane and had his blinker on but then saw a car flying up going way too fast and decided not to, but the other car thought he was going to change lanes and jerked his wheel causing his car to go out of control and hit the right back side of Brittains car. Brittain spun around before managing to pull to the right, but the other car went from the far right lane to the car pool lane, hitting more cars on the way. Brittain was and is ok, but the other guy was rushed to the hospital and we don't know how he is. Hopefully he and the others involved will be allright, keep them all in your prayers.
This is the second time in like 1 or 2 months where I came really close to an accident, if I would have just gone through traffic and got off at Bellflower I would have seen Brittain and the whole thing. Every time I hit traffic now I am going to try and remember not to get upset, but instead to just take at least a moment and pray that whoever was involved is allright, because you never know who the victim was.

Happy Independence Day

So I'm sure everyone has their own July 4th stories that I will be reading about soon. Mine is about the same as it has been for the past 8 or 9 years... except for the 2 morning movies. Yes we are a movie family and have seen many, so this morning we went to see The Terminal and The Notebook, I think I liked The Notebook the best, good movie.
Then we came home for some bbq hotdogs and then went off to Vet Stadium over at Long Beach City College where we met up with the Yearick clan... all cousins and aunts and uncles and all and watched the show which consists of the same thing every year:
band and dancing and singing
tshirt give away/toss
police dogs eating padded fake criminals
raffle for bikes
fireworks
Anyway fun time, but again the same thing every year, I will have to try and do something else next year if I can pull that one off.

Hey it's July 4th!

But I havent' been to bed yet so that doesn't makes sense. Whew I'm feeling really good now... just got in some jogging/walking at the beach and then helped Corrie make chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels, yum! and ate far too many pretzels and far too much chocolate. Anyway since I've been up now for about 20 hours I think it's time to go to bed. But first, 100 situps! And happy 4th to all!

Garage Sale

Well I've been up since 5:00 this morning getting ready for our garage sale. I think the whole thing went pretty well. Between my family and Emma we made about $300, now considering that's all stuff that was going to be given away anyway I'd say that was pretty good. I myself made $70, some nice spending money for New Jersey next week or whenever. I have to say though it was sad to watch some of the stuff go, as I'm sure Emily was as well. She finally got rid of most of her baby dolls that she's been holding onto forever. Anyway went well but now I am kind of tired from waking up so early...

Much less boring day

I forced Emily to stop being a couch potato today and took her to the beach. I'm pretty sure she actually had a really good time, which was cool for me too. It was the first time this summer that I actually went in the water at the beach instead of just laying out! Brrr it was cold but fun too getting knocked down by the not so large waves. Then we went for some Golden Spoon ice cream... yum! Tonight I have to really clean out my room cause Emma and I (families included) are having a garage sale tomorrow to earn some extra money. If anyone has anything they don't want anymore but wants some cash for it feel free to drop it by. My house is in a good location since it's right near a major street and all. Anyway so I'm gonna go start cleaning right now.

Bored

That's about all I can say, I'm bored. I think this was the first day all summer that I have really truly been bored. I did little things like lay out, learned to play badmitton (Emily's going to play in high school next year), picking yummy plums from our plum tree, errands... But all in all just kinda bored.

July is here!

Wow, I can't believe it's July already. Let's see alot's going on in July... we have July 4th soon, my sister's 15th birthday is in a week, and next Friday Emma and I leave for New Jersey. Then I have orientation for SDSU on July 23rd, meaning I also have to register for classes after that. Let's see and then there is going to be a baptism at the end of the month where I will be baptized! And at the very end of the month I think I'm going with Emma's family to go waterskiing and stuff on their newly fixed up boat. Anyway much to look forward to... and in 8 1/2 weeks I leave for college.
