Ruby's and Corsages

Image hosting by Photobucket

Boy, I miss my friends.

This weekend I went up to UCLA to visit Emma. After going home for my dads birthday. I really miss that girl. We had a great time :). We always get into some good deep conversations. Talking about things we don't talk about with anyone else. It's nice to have that person you can be completely yourself around and who completely understands you. I think I very much needed this weekend.

My midget stocker

When I was standing in line at the market at school today there was this guy in the aisle next to me who was giving me this weird look that was kind of like "hey, what's up" in a weird kind of way. He was probably about 4 foot negative 2 inches tall and the look made me feel awkward. So I just kind of looked the other way. Then at work I rang him up for a purchase. He was like "hey, we keep seeming to run into each other, today at Starbucks, then the market, and now here!" Umm... I didn't see him at Starbucks, but oh well.
This really wouldn't be a story worth telling until we get to this part...
So he kind of turns his head to the side, like he's talking over his shoulder and says very softly "I'm single, how about you"? haha. So I didn't actually hear him the first time, so asked him "what"? And he repeated the whole thing over in the same way. So I said, "oh I'm not, I'm sorry!" Even though technically I am :/. Then he's all "Man, why are all the pretty ones taken?"
Aww, pick up lines are great.

Interesting...

Instead of studying I figured out today that I might actually be able to graduate in 4 years still. This is if I take 4 summer classes, and a full load every semester. Which could be a little difficult with studying abroad. At the most it should now take me 4.5 years instead of the 5 I thought. I don't mind it taking 4.5 years (in total) instead of 4. But it's something to think about...

President's Day

Many people get President's day off. The only day we get off at school is Cesar Chavez day. How random is that?
I didn't have too eventful of a weekend. Friday a couple of Cerise's friends came down and we went to dinner at Ruby's and then went to see a movie. I pretty much had a lazy Saturday, and went to the basketball game at night with Jenn and a couple of other friends.
Jenn and I decided to go to bed early last night. So we managed to get to bed by 12:00. I figured I wasn't going to set my alarm and just let my body catch up on sleep. I didn't wake up until 12:00 this afternoon! I mean not even waking up earlier and then just laying there for a while, or deciding to go back to sleep. Literally not waking up until 12. Yes, 12 straight hours of deep sleep. I guess I really needed it! So now it's time for bed once again. I have a ridiculously busy week ahead of me again :( At least I'll get a bit of a break after this week.

24 hours

I am completely exhausted. I have about 10 hours of studying to do tonight. I have been studying and in class since 8 this morning. If I start my 10 hours at 4, with a few necessary breaks. Then I will be up until probably 3 or 4 in the morning. That is almost 24 hours straight of studying!!! Ahh!!! I am seriously looking forward to a nap tomorrow after class!

I am Sad

I feel like no one really updates their blogs anymore. At least not all that often. I mean, I know we are all busy with our lives and everything. But still. Only two of my friends on my blog list actually live in the same city as I do. I like being able to keep up with people's lives. I'm lonely! Miss you guys!

Can't I please just sleep?

Right now I hate Accounting, IDS, and Philosophy. Grr... I'm really counting on the upper division business classes to be much more entertaining than the pre-business stuff. Although I mainly hate it right now because it is way too much homework and too many tests!!

Time

There aren't enough hours in this coming up week to do everything that I need to do. And it's already 5:00 on Sunday. Too bad I gave up caffeine a while ago... maybe I'll make exceptions this week.

Fun Weekend!

Thursday night I went to see Jars of Clay at the House of Blues with Corrie. It was such a good show! I figured out the night before that they had a new CD out. haha. I liked their new stuff though, so that was good. It was nice visiting with Corrie hanging out and having fun. We ate at Sushi Itto before the concert. It was so delicious! I even tried something with eel in it, and it was the yummiest one!
After the concert we had a late night Denny's run. Friday I wanted to go shopping. So we went and Corrie ended up getting tons of stuff while I didn't get anything! Bummer. We ended the day with Cheesecake Factory and Pink Panther, which was a pretty funny movie actually. After Adahl's yesterday Corrie had to go back home to finish up some work. I came home and took a 3 hour nap... which was soo nice. Of course the 3 hour nap didn't help my sleeping cycle since I didn't go to bed until 3:00am last night. I didn't get more than 5 hours of sleep any one night last week... and I think it's going to be the same this week with the way I've started off! Stink!

A Story

My friend Rob from work and I wrote a story together. Cause we were bored. We traded off going back and forth... Enjoy ;)
Once upon a time there was a pink and purple spider. She lost the love of her life and she was blue. Then she went into the forest with all of the orange gnomes. The gnomes were cool, their intent was true, they offered her a place to stay. Miss Spidey was extremely grateful. She baked all of the gnomes chocolate cookies and a triple layer cake! It turned out that the gnomes were allergic to chocolate. She ate all of the cookies and cake by herself and got sick. The end.
We'll make millions!

Another Surfing Post

So I got to go out and surf today. I seriously had a blast. I didn't actually manage to stand up on the board, but not for lack of effort. I did get on my knees and to the point where I could get into the standing position, I just couldn't balance standing wise. Anyway, it was such a blast. I only got caught in one rip current, but managed to pull myself out. The weather was absolutely beautiful today, in the 80's. Our instructors said that the surf was a little big for beginners, but it was ok because we just stayed closer to the shore.
Oh yes, and I only got smacked in the face with my board once, and did a nose dive into the ground once and ran into someone else once. hehe.
One really cool thing. We can go to as many classes throughout the week as we want without paying extra. We just can't go to a couple of the Friday classes, or the Saturday ones because they are full. So when I don't have class, or work, then I'm definitely going to try to go to more classes! Hopefully next week I'll make it to standing! :)

Lyrics

Tomorrow I'm going to the Jars of Clay show. It's been awhile since I've listened to their music, so lately I've been brushing up. And finding that I still really like the band. On top of that many lyrics have been jumping out at me and becoming more relevant than they ever were before. I thought I'd share one song in particular... It's called "I'm Allright"

it was the fear of God that led me to you
and it's the fear of you that takes getting used to
i've never been one to hang my heart on a thread
but you spun me around and you loved me instead

i know i could turn to something other than you
'cause i don't understand you and why you're after me
i've never been the saint you wanted me to turn to
and i can't see the view from the eyes you look at me through
oh, no

but i'm alright; i'm alright
i'm alright; i'm alright
i'm alright; i'm alright
i'm alright

so cut below the surface and try hard not to notice
that i could be so foolish thinkin' i'm alright
i've got no one to hold me; i've got no one to carry
everything inside of me that i won't let you see

Painting Pottery

Cerise, Jenn, Jenn's sister Jillian and I went to this place called Ceramic Cafe to paint some pottery. It was way fun. But I didn't get a chance to finish my mug, so I'm going back tomorrow to finish it. Don't worry Melissa, Art and Soul is way cooler ;) We needed to get out of the apartment, even though it's just Thursday, and do something fun!
I'll make sure to take pictures of our cute bowls and mugs after we get them back.

Designated Nap Time

Remember how in kindergarden and pre-school there was nap time every day? Boy do I miss those days! But every Tuesday and Thursday I have made myself a nap time, in between class #1 and #2. From about 9:45-10:45. I guess I could try to be productive. But when I do attempt to study it just makes me super sleepy, so I fall asleep in the nice comfy chairs in the library with half of the rest of the school anyways!

Surfing!

I just got back from my surfing class. It was soo much fun! I had an absolute blast! We haven't actually surfed yet. We did a little swim test and treaded water for a while first. And then paddled around the bay and practiced pushing up, standing, doing a turtle roll, and turning around. Another reason it was awesome was because everyone taking the class was so nice and sweet, and the instructors are really cool. I was reminded again that I love the beach and being in the water though! I can't wait until next week when we actually attempt to surf! That should be entertaining ;)
