Off Days

Yesterday and so far today have been bad days. Basically a bunch of things that could go wrong did and I'm frustrated and stressed and annoyed and lamely emotional. Ugh. Prayer?

6 Things... Originally Titled 3 Things, but ya know

1. Pumpkin carving parties are cool... (pictures to come as soon as I get a chance to download them)

2. Friends are amazing... and one of my favorite things is when one of my friends becomes friends with another of my friends. Does that make sense?

3. I'm going to the Price is Right Thursday... woohoo!

4. I like epiphany's.

5. I hate money. It's not that I want to be rich or anything... I just hate that not having enough of it can be a deterrent to doing fun things. Or even not fun things like buying food or fixing my car.

6. I hate papers. And I have to go start writing one for tomorrow right now.

Under 30

I almost forgot to mention that on Tuesday Amy and I had our first dinner as adopted college students with our adopted family :) The Lehman's have 2 daughters, one of which is in our Club 56 group, and also a foreign exchange student from Japan who is going to SDSU. It was an amazingly delicious homecooked meal if I do say so myself! After dinner we were talking and it came out that I used to play soccer. Well the mom invited me to play with her women's team that has games on Thursday nights. They play "indoor" (indoor being in quotes because it's not really indoor, it's just a smaller field on turf instead of grass). I'm actually really excited! My favorite part is that they aren't allowed to have more than one "under 30" player on the field at a time. The only other under 30 player they have is Mizuway (no idea if that's spelled right), the foreign exchange student.
Yah for soccer and playing with old people! haha

Oh My Goodness!

Soo much has been going on lately! My birthday in Vegas was absolutely amazing! I had a ton of fun dancing around at this club called Pure, and walking the strip at night and gambling all of $10. (I gave myself a nice low limit). And the friends that came made it all the better! Thanks so much guys it was awesome!

Onto sadder news...

My car died again. It decided it only wanted to start part of the time. I took it in and the guy checked a few other things while he was checking the starter since it still has a stalling problem. Since my brake light has been on for like almost a year he checked the breaks and figured out that if I didn't get them fixed pretty soon I would basically be driving a car without any brakes, not really a good thing. Anyway after his $2000 estimate on all of the damage I had him talk to my dad to see what for sure needed to be fixed and we got it down to $1000... my starter was crap so a new starter, and extensive brake repairs (not something you can really put off). Ugh!! This car is soo not worth how much we've been putting into it!
The semi cool part, if any, is that I get to drive a rental car for a couple of days (for free) while it's in the shop. So I'm driving a 2006 Toyota Matrix. Although this wouldn't be a car I would normally choose to drive, it's rather nice. I mean it starts when I want it to. Doesn't stall half the time. Actually accelerates at a decent pace. The AC works. Automatic locks and windows. I know, my standards aren't really too high, but it is nice for a change.

Moving on to a bit of more exciting news...

I officially turned in my London application! Woohoo! It's all set. Basically I just need my passport to come in, and I need to pay about $9,000 by the middle of next month and I'm all set to go! Aren't student loans great? Until later on when they have to be paid off...

Work is normal. I really think I need to get out of this job though, it's starting to wear on my nerves. 2 years and 2 months of a college job is basically too much. I am definitely not nearly as happy of a customer service person as I used to be. I really enjoy the people I work with, it's more the customer side of things that is starting to jade me. If I wasn't leaving for London in 11 weeks and 4 days I would probably be looking for another job right now.

So I think that's about it... oh yeah! Except... what should I be for Halloween?? I'm helping to work at the Harvest Carnival at my church which I'm pretty sure is like booths set up for games and candy and fun randomness like that. But I need a costume for it!!

London Here I Come!!... Well Almost

Ok I've offically finally applied for my passport. I put down the deposit today for the London Study Abroad program (no turning back now!). Filled out most of my application. I basically just have to figure out for sure which classes I am taking. And then turn in the application by the deadline on Tuesday!! Actually I should probably try to turn it in tomorrow just in case I am forgetting anything.
Woohoo!! I am so stinkin excited!!

A-G

I love coming out of a test and knowing that I have absolutely failed it. I had a business law test today and didn't study nearly as much as I should have, and knew that, but was still thinking I knew enough to get a C.
Well the test itself was ridiculous. 85 multiple choice with choices A-G (7 options). The first 3 or 4 would be answers to choose from and the last 3 or 4 would say for example a and c, or c d and f, or all of the above, or none of the above. It was seriously ridiculous. Then there were 15 were fill in at the end. I for sure knew I think 2 of them and I guessed on like 10 more and gave up.
Ugh! Lame.

Not Usually the Planner

There's so many random things going on! And it seems like I am planning alot of them. Which is way fun and I totally don't mind... I'm just not used to it!

- Going home tomorrow for the birthday, my mom wants to know what we're doing and where we're going out to dinner still.
- Saturday night planning for going out at midnight
- Sunday day doing something for the b-day. Still don't know what?
- Making reservations for dinner at Hard Rock for a pretty big group Sunday night, then maybe going out after that one too.
- Vegas next weekend.
- Planning London stuff. Filling out my application, working on passports, working on loan stuff.
- Oh! And I'm having a pumpkin carving party at my apartment in a couple of weeks! I'm excited that I actually initiated and planned this one :)

Phew! Who put me in charge of all this stuff?? Well granted, half of it is for MY birthday. So I guess that part makes sense. ;)

I Like Cheese

Something the 5th and 6th graders say often in random moments is "I like cheese". I totally remembered that it was a joke from somewhere or scene from a movie or something. But I couldn't remember where I had heard it, and didn't want to sound lame by asking.
Well the other night I watched "She's the Man" with Corrie and a few friends and there it was! An entire scene of a conversation about cheese to teach a guy how to talk to girls. If you haven't seen the movie yet 1. this probably wouldn't make that much sense, and 2. you need to go see it because Amanda Bynes is hilarious.
Anyway... so now I am cool again. It is weird to feel "old" and behind on the times when you're only 20/21ish.

At least it makes for a decent story

On my way home from school (10:20ish) I stopped at Vons to grab some stuff really quick. When I left my car wouldn't start. Actually I take that back. It started and stalled, started and stalled, and then finally just quit randomly in the middle of an aisle. So this is the THIRD time my car has had problems starting in that parking lot. How weird is that?? Nowhere else but there.
I call my room mates and Benita comes to rescue me. I'm probably literally a half of a mile from home, I just can't abandon my car in the parking lot.
ANYWAY. Benita came to rescue me. Right as we're about to put the cables on the sprinklers start going off soaking me and both of the engines of the cars. We are thinking this probably isn't such a good thing. Then a random guy comes up in a beat up old van and offers to help. He looks a little shady but ends up being really cool and helps us push my car out of the sprinklers.
Then we jump started it and that's about the end of the story!
Until of course I write again tomorrow to say it wouldn't start in the morning... hopefully not.

Trying to make the updates more frequent...

I know I have mentioned it a couple of times... but my 21st birthday is a week from today! :) I'm going home for part of friday and part of Saturday to have the family birthday part. Then Saturday night at midnight I'm going out with a few friends, but I don't know exactly where yet. On my birthday I'm having a big dinner/get together with friends at Hard Rock Cafe in downtown SD. I'm pretty excited about that one, should be fun.
The weekend after my birthday I am going with a few friends to spend a couple of days in Vegas! Woohoo! :)
Planning to enjoy the "21st" birthday.
